Goals vs. Reality

I've heard the best way to make and set goals is to write them down and share them. It encourages accountability and action....Plus, I'm all about making lists so I thought I'd share a few of my goals for 2009.

Goals for 2009 (in no particular order) vs. Reality in 2009 (in no particular order)

Make a whole honk load of money-Ok well yes, lets face it, I will make money just maybe not a honk load. But not without a lot of blood, sweat, tears, and swear words.

Go to Europe to visit the rents in the land of the Czechs and the ol mish in land of the Danes-Also definitely going to happen sometime in August

Stop having bad dreams about burning the house down while my parents are gone-Continue to dream about Mom and Dad suddenly coming home from their mission and the plants aren't watered, the lawn isn't mowed, the mail isn't brought in, all the lights are on, the door isn't locked, and the house is in complete disarray.

Qualify for the Boston Marathon in May-Drag my sorry bootay across the finish line of the Ogden Marathon in May.

Be totally hip and release my inner fashionista-Continue wearing t-shirts and jeans with sneakers. I swear some day it will be the "it" thing.

Stop killing all the house plants while my parents are gone-Water the plants maybe once a month and pray for the best.

Start making more meals-Do meals consist of canned soup, PB and J sandwiches, cereal and milk? Then yes! I will be making more meals.

Find some sort of cure for my sugar addiction-Seriously,....somebody....anybody....help me!

Natalie, you're so great! It's been a long time! This is Staci Lewis. I check in on your blog from time to time, but I realized that it's only one-sided! I need to send you an invite to MY blog... (in the event you ever want to check in on our happenings)! I love your posts. You're just as fun-loving, optimistic, and witty as ever! Love it! I was bummed not to see you at Head's party over Christmas, but maybe one of these years we'll connect!

You are too funny! All of your posts make me laugh so hard. It's honestly a little embarrassing when I'm at work giggling to myself. Good luck with the goals! I think that's so amazing that you want to run the Boston Marathon! I just want to run a 5K (and that's pushing it), which is pathetic next to your goal. Keep me posted!

Natalie!! I need help too! I'm right there with you on the sugar thing Sister! Hook it to my veins.
And about that marathon...I'll be waving your sore boot-ay long goodbye as you pass me after the first 30 seconds.

I am laughing so hard, as usual...I love the stuff you come up with. And I love that you kill plants because I too am that way. I house sat for these people for 7 days and killed more than 50% of their plants. I mean, seriously, seven days? What kind of plants are these? And how did I kill them in that short of an amount of time? I have no idea but it's the gospel truth. It happend. And yes, canned soup does count as a meal...at least that's what I've told my husband for the last 6 years :)

Nats, you're always so creative! Sure you could just list out your goals for 09. It'd be nice. But then you go a step further and do things like THIS that just leave me laughing and happy. Bless you, sweet Natto, bless you.
