Happy Father's Day! I wanted to recognize two wonderful Father's in my life. I have been blessed with two wonderful leaders and Priesthood holders. JJ and I have great examples to lead and guide us.
Here are some random, lovable tidbits about my own Dad.
- He loves his family, especially his youngest child.
- He has to have all his "ducks in a row." Its because of you Dad, that I am the way I am!
- He loves the Oakridge boys. I can remember many a saturday morning and Christmas morning listening to the Oakridge boys. Because of him I also love the Oakridge boys.
- He has taught me the value of work.
- Every morning without fail, you can find him reading his scriptures at 6:00 in the morning.
- Everyone who knows him well understands just how dang funny he his.
- He loves peanuts and he has also passed that love on to me.
- He is a man with few needs and even fewer wants.
- The only person who could put him in his place was my Grandma Carol.
- He tolerates a few choice swearwords, and I quote, "we understand a few hells and damns in our house". (those are his words!)
- Some coined phrases from him are: "two feet", "who wants to dance with Hettie Larou?", "lets keep everything moving in an orderly fashion", "that's an expensive piece of machinery", "sucks be to you", "I'm just gonna top off here." remember that one Matt? :)
- He loves the game: the Jazz game, the BYU game, the Utah game, the Murray game, whatever sport it is, he loves it.
- He is a wonderful example of love: love for the Gospel and his family.
- He loves ketchup. He puts it on everything.
- The first time I went to the Koffords for dinner, Dale made me sit right by him. :)
- He gives you a big hug right after you walk through their front door.
- He loves being with his family, especially his newest daughter in law! :)
- He is one of the smartest people I know. He is quite the math whiz.`
- He loves cashews.
- He was so welcoming to me right from the beginning, I appreciated that so much. (and still do!)
- He taught me how to fish. I didn't catch a thing....hmmm....
- He doesn't appreciate it when JJ and I cheat and win when we play Sequence with him and Mike. :)
- His grandchildren love him.
- He lets us use his boat and he has a nice truck. (I swear that's not a hint....)(Yes it is)
- He is also a wonderful example of one who loves his family, the Gospel, and the Lord.

I'm so happy you guys love Sequence so much. I wasn't lying when I said we play it daily. We moved for 14 hours on Saturday and at the end of our long tired day we pulled out the board and played a couple rounds. It made everything better.
Let's have a playoff! Hocks and Koffords!! I like your idea of a group date too--let's do that!
Cute Natalie Robbins (sorry, I know that's not accurate anymore) . . . I found your blog through Holly's and have loved looking at your little fairy tale. You're as darling as can be and I'm so happy for your happiness. I swear I'm your number one fan and I loved seeing what you're up to. I didn't even know you were married . . . having my parents gone makes us completely out of the loop on stuff like that that I would have normally heard. Speaking of - I heard your parents are on their way, as well! I wish they were going to Seoul West to keep my parents company. :) Anyway - longest comment of all time. Just happy to "see" you. You're a doll.
Lots of love,
Annie (Burton) Karren
p.s. Sorry that my "you're a doll" comment makes it sound like I'm talking to a 12 year old . . . sometimes I find myself talking like a 50 year old woman.
Hey my name is Shellie. My brother is Eric Smith who is your neighbor. Just saying hi!
