After reading Kari Christensen's blog entry today, I felt prompted to write this. The topic of today's entry is "If you could invite any 5 people, dead or alive to dinner, who would it be?" Talk about a tough question. Here are the people that came first to my mind, but they could change as I further dwell on it.
1. Joseph Smith Jr. - Ever since I did the church history tour with my dad before my mission, I have been intrigued by Joseph Smith. I usually go and see the movie at temple square every other month at least. I have always felt overwhelmed at the commandment to be perfect, but whenever I think of Joseph Smith, recognizing that he is only a man, I feel that if I can just become a man like him, I'll do alright for myself.
2. I would love to meet the Kofford that embraced the gospel so many years ago on the tiny danish island of Denmark called Bornholm. I don't even know his name. I just remember hearing from my grandma that when he accepted the gospel he was exiled from the island, and left only to travel wth thousands of other Danes to Utah. I felt a closeness to that man while I was serving in Denmark.
3. I would also like to meet my Grandpa Skipworth. He was the first on my mom's side who embraced the gospel and sent his family to Canada. I think it would be fascinating to hear his conversion story, and be able to ask him how he had faith enough to send his family to an unfamiliar land, for something that he hadn't really known all that long.
4. President Hinkley - I don't want to sound too "churchy" or anything, but I honestly would love to meet President Hinkley. He has influenced my life in many ways. Plus, I think it would be awesome, based on what I know about Joseph Smith, having a good sense of humor, and President Hinkley with his sense of humor, I can only imagine it would be a lot of fun to put the two together.
I'm still working on the last one, so stay tuned.

Ahhh- I'm so honored that you would actually do the tag from my blog. I like your answers so far. I didn't even think of Joseph Smith- that would be a good one too. I haven't seen the movie at the Joseph Smith Memorial building yet. Ummm.. I think I feel another double date forming! Happy Thanksgiving.
I'm a little offended that I'm not on your list, JJ ;) After all, I am your favorite sister, RIGHT!?! Love ya!
